The Young Kiberans For Change youth group, or YK4C as it's commonly known, has a new outreach method.....DRAMA! Yesterday, the "Talented Vissionaires" of YK4C presented two plays to the Kibra Academy Secondary School, where the Children of Kibera Foundation installed its very first computer lab.

YK4C normally hosts student discussions on social, political, economic, and cultural issues such as gender equality, food security, and political violence. The club decided to present their messages through a new medium and wrote and directed their first two plays within a few weeks. The plays address the reprucussions of cheating on loved ones, early pregnancy, crime, and relationship issues. YK4C already has two more plays in the works, one about a pastor who abuses young girls, and another about people effected by HIV.

Facilitators Joscelyn Truitt and Jackie Espana have been supporting YK4C since a Form 4 student, Kevyne Oduor, founded the group.

Pictures and videos to come soon....
