Student motivation is a deeply rooted culture at The
Red Rose School. These pupils have
dreams and ambitions, the fire to excel is burning inside them, all they need
is inspiration to fan the flames of achievement.
Tuesday at 5pm; we had a special guest who paid us a
courtesy visit to share her story with our eight grade students. Vivian Onano
is definitely going places, coming from a humble background and struggling
through primary school in Kisumu (a port city in western Kenya), she had a
dream and her eyes were firmly fixed on her target, through the help of her
teachers, she managed to have excellent score that saw her join Starehe Girls
Center (a top girls national school) She in now at Carthage College in
Wisconsin pursuing Biological Sciences and Psychology for her undergraduate degree.
Our students could connect to Vivian’s story and
relate to the kind of challenges she had to surmount to be where she is now. Her
time with our students was great, her advice invaluable. Thank you for sharing
and inspiring our students.
“Pay
attention to what your teachers tell you, be hungry for knowledge, participate
in extra-curricular activities strive to be the best you can be and nothing
will hinder you from achieving your life goals”.-Vivian Onano
These are the ingredients to success..
