As the year nears its end we cannot fail to mention
on this special day what a blessing it has been and what a fine way to begin
our Thanks giving week! A whole suitcase full of: toothpaste, toothbrushes,
dental floss, colored pencils and note books from our friends Michael and Reva.
Thank you, each kid at Red Rose School will get to carry some goodies home.
A person can be expressed by two beautiful words
“Thank you", it is said that the two words are the top of all virtues in
the world and because the two most important words in the English language. Our
friends in the United States are celebrating thanks giving day and of course we
have so much to be thankful for. Thanksgiving is celebrated all around the
globe each year on the fourth Thursday of November and considered the most
important holiday of the year.
We have met and bonded with many great individuals
this year who have forged amazing friendships with us and always brought with
them gifts that the children were always so ecstatic to receive; The Potomac
School-young leaders in service team, teachers from the Norwood school, Rob
Norton (our chairman) with his family and friends. LitWorld team visit who
brought friends too and had a camp, Parklands Baptist for showing love and support mostly through giving so as to ensure
growth in the local community, the St Lawrence team, all the amazing
individuals and the Media for helping make it possible to make known what we do
as an organization. We are happy to express gratitude and show how important your
generosity and commitment has all been to the organization.
It has been so much more than just material gifts. Opportunities
make a child’s dream come true by providing them with education, being able to
make new friends, always a blessing and expand opportunities for the children
of Kibera. We have gained more knowledge through all our new connections, Meeting
and keeping in touch through Skype calls has not only broadened the children’s
horizons but the organization as a whole. The children have shared stories and
experiences with other students all over the world. They have learned how to
respect to others who have different cultures from them. Huge milestone for we aim as an organization
to help better the lives of the children.
